RWANDA: WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT CENTER BY FATIMA HASSAN AND CLAUDE BUTERA
Handspun Hope, a non-profit ministry in Rwanda, empowers over 200 at-risk women. They aim to enhance and expand their current facilities to better support a range of program operations, including wool crafting production and trauma counseling. Their social business model tackles the cycle of poverty by providing fair wages and holistic care programs, encompassing mental health counseling, family healthcare, child education scholarships, spiritual mentorship, and more for their female workforce. Volunteer Fatima joined with local architect Claude to visualize a revamped version of their empowerment facility in the mountains of North Rwanda.
