A flexible park for enterprise, gathering, and gradual growth.
The Eco Industrial Park in Rukungiri is conceived as a platform for local enterprise rather than a conventional fenced industrial estate. A community center provides common ground for training and meetings; adaptable workshops give entrepreneurs space to make, repair, and develop businesses; and a future eco-lodge could bring visitors and revenue that support the wider site. The plan is deliberately incremental so the park can begin with the most useful shared infrastructure and expand as organizations, tenants, and funding emerge. Environmental responsibility is tied to that economic logic: efficient buildings, landscape, and shared systems can reduce operating costs while giving the campus a coherent identity.
Journeyman International’s role was to help connect these moving parts into a master plan that remains useful even if phases arrive in a different order. The project is a proposal, not a completed park. Its architectural value lies in creating a durable framework where small enterprises can share resources, community programs can remain visible, and growth does not require abandoning the original environmental goals.
