The story
A three-story school organized around care beyond the classroom.
Faith Christian School was established to combine academic learning with meals, counseling, spiritual life, and a stable community for children in a remote part of Uganda. Its expansion proposal gathers twelve classrooms, boys’ and girls’ dormitories, teacher rooms, a dining hall and kitchen, library, computer room, chapel, recovery rooms, and play space around open courtyards. The plan separates quieter residential areas from busy school functions while keeping shared spaces central and legible. Clay brick, bamboo, metal, and rammed earth are proposed as locally available materials, and playful color is used to make the campus feel welcoming rather than institutional.
Developed with Third Lens Ministries and Journeyman International, the work remains a design proposal; the archive does not establish completion. Its architectural response recognizes that students who live on campus need more than classrooms. Learning, rest, worship, health, food, supervision, and play must form one coherent daily environment where children can feel secure and known.
