The M2535 greenhouses were designed as productive infrastructure within the Santiago Agriculture and Water Company’s larger vocational village. Protected growing areas can extend seasons, improve control over water, and create a dependable setting for teaching cultivation, nursery work, crop management, and small-enterprise skills. The greenhouses are not isolated demonstration objects; they connect to aquaponics, water filtration, training, markets, and the food needs of other campus programs. That relationship allows students to follow a crop from propagation through harvest and sale while testing practices suited to the Cibao region.
Journeyman International’s proposal treats agricultural systems as both curriculum and part of the village’s social-business model. The archive documents design work but does not verify that the greenhouses were built, so the project remains prospective. Its architectural value is operational: carefully organized growing space can make water, shade, ventilation, workflow, and maintenance visible enough to teach, repeat, and improve through daily use.
