The story

A preschool-to-grade-nine campus for Poipet.

Mercy Ministries Foundation proposed a school in Poipet City spanning preschool through ninth grade, with housing for staff and volunteers. The program combines local and international curricula with English, computer learning, music, dance, and sport, responding to gaps in resources, infrastructure, and teacher support within the surrounding education system. Journeyman International’s design challenge was to organize many ages and activities without creating an overwhelming institution.

Classrooms, play, performance, technology, and residential areas need clear boundaries and shared spaces, while accessibility, shade, airflow, sanitation, and supervision shape the everyday plan. The project submission establishes the partner’s intent but the archive does not verify construction, so the campus remains a proposal. Its central architectural idea is a progression: one place where a child can move through foundational and later learning, encounter different ways of expressing ability, and remain supported by teachers and a community that knows the full arc of the school.
