A cooperative campus pairs shared knowledge with rural enterprise.
Rwaza Community Library and Coffee and Cocoa Cooperative was conceived as a practical civic and economic hub for communities around Nkotsi, Muko, and Rwaza. The program brings a library and gathering space into the same campus as cooperative processing and business activity, recognizing that education and livelihoods reinforce one another. Farmers could meet, learn, organize, and strengthen the value of their crops without separating those exchanges from the community’s broader social life.
The site is also connected to local energy infrastructure, giving the proposal an opportunity to demonstrate how reliable power can support learning, processing, and entrepreneurship together. The surviving archive does not contain a final design book or construction record, so specific architectural details and built status cannot be confirmed. The project is best understood as an early master-plan proposal: a shared place where access to information, productive equipment, and collective decision-making could help locally led enterprises grow while keeping their benefits rooted in the surrounding villages.
