An engineering link between the lakes below and the village above.
Sunzu Village occupies steep ground above Lake Burera, where dramatic views also reveal the central water challenge: the nearest dependable source lies far below the homes and community facilities that need it. This project proposes a pumping system capable of lifting water from the lakeshore to storage at the hilltop, turning elevation from an everyday barrier into a solvable infrastructure problem. The design must coordinate intake, pump selection, energy, pipe routing, storage, treatment, maintenance, and protection of the lake environment. Just as important, it must be understandable and financially workable for the people responsible for operating it.
The reviewed Drive folder did not contain a readable final engineering report or evidence that the full system was installed, so this remains a water-infrastructure proposal and performance claims should not be made. Within the larger Sunzu master plan, however, it is foundational: libraries, sanitation, hospitality, agriculture, and households all depend on reliable water. Architecture can organize opportunity, but this pump is what would make much of that opportunity viable.
